Finding a daily skincare routine to suit your lifestyle may prove to be quite challenging and difficult to master. Weather you choose to go through a 4 step, 6 step, or 10 step routine, step two will always remain the same and that is toning! Daily cleansing and toning is the most effective way to maintaining healthy, vibrant skin.

Toning after cleansing is an important step that completes the skin cleansing process. Many people often leave this step out, but in reality, toning should be considered a very important essential part of your daily cleansing routine.

Cleanser and toner are one of the least expensive of beauty products, yet very effective in your daily skincare routine.  Cleansing followed up with toning should be done at least twice a day for best results! Also keep in mind that, toning once a day is better than not at all. A good toner will remove any remaining bits of oil, dirt and debris left behind by the cleanser.

Most importantly, toning your skin will help soothe, nourish and hydrate the skin while restoring its levels of pH back into balance. Toners can help keep skin from becoming too dry or too oily. Toners can also contain beneficial ingredients such as antioxidants and humectants. Toning after cleansing can help the skin to better absorb other products that follow such as serums and moisturizers to be even more effective.

With so many different toners out on the market, choosing the wrong toner can actually end up doing more harm then good to your skin. Many toners contain large amounts of alcohol, which can dry out the skin and cause it to flake or overproduce oil. These types of toners are generally labeled wrong and in truth are Astringents. Added fragrances can also irritate the skin and other harmful ingredients will only inflame the skin. With that said, it’s a good idea to use a gentle toner that will provide your skin with all the benefits without any of the downsides large amounts of alcohol and artificial fragrances.

The Klairs Supple Preparation Facial Toner has been upgraded in size and in formula! This non-irritating toner is gentle on skin and provides great hydration to rejuvenate and restore your tired skin. Upon application, the Klair’s toner hydrates and calms sensitive skin, tidies up post cleaning residues, smooth the skin, and restore levels of pH back into balance. Made with a wide variety of natural plant extracts combined with a ratio of skin soothing ingredients, the formula is non-irritating, supper hydrating, and friendly for sensitive skin use.

With a faster rate of absorption and enhanced hydration, the upgraded formula makes skin glow brighter with intensified moisture retention. The key factor behind the upgraded toner is the upgraded moisturizer that rapidly absorbs into the skin, while prolonging hydration by more than 20% compared with conventional toners formulated with hyaluronic acid and beta-glucan.

For dry skin, it is recommended for use 2-3 times daily to help relieve the strain caused by dry skin. For oily skin, the toner is safe for use all year round and helps to decrease oiliness while increasing hydration and absorption.

  • After cleansing, apply and appropriate amount onto clean skin and use the heat of your palms to pat gently for complete absorption. TIP: For dry areas, multiple applications are recommended.
  • If using a cotton pad, soak the pad completely then apply onto the skin. You may be surprised by how much leftover dirt will be removed with the cotton pad and toner that had been missed with the cleanser!

While the need for toner has been debated by cosmetologists in the past, it is considered necessary by many since toning helps to reduce the size of pores and helps to get rid of dead skin cells that contribute to skin dullness. Daily toning helps to clear the skin from within and at the same time it also reduces the possibility of breakouts and the development of blackheads and whiteheads.
